1940s Experience News
Well our Forties Family Experience Weekend IX is over. I'd like to start off by saying a huge thankyou to everybody that came out to support us over the course of the weekend! Thankyou to the stall holders and exhibitors that were with us over the two days; to Fiona Harrison for her performances and the Swingsters for their dance sessions; to the army of re-enactors that descended on our site; to everyone else involved with the running of our battle re-enactments and to the team that set up for and gave out the loudspeaker announcements all weekend. Of course, we also say a massive thankyou to our staff and volunteers. Without all the effort they put in, none of this would be possible. Thank you all.
I will be adding a new gallery of photos from our big weekend after our Open Day on Sunday 26th April 2015. This will give time to sort through the photos that I have, gather any other photos and sort out how to arrange them into galleries. I'll also be updating other sections of the site after that weekend.
For the keen dancers amongst you, there is now information about the monthly tea dances that happen on the site around this time of year. The Swingsters will be returning to the site for our open days from May to October to hold a monthly tea dance in the Dance Hall. There will be a £7 admission fee for the tea dances (in addition to the entrance fee for the 1940s Experience) and they will be providing complimentary tea, coffee and cakes. For more information about the dates and times of the tea dances, you can visit our next events page.
That's all for now, except for a reminder that our next Open Day is on Sunday 26th April 2015.
Hope to see you there.
