1940s Experience News

Thankyou to everybody that came to our June Open Day, it was nice to see such a good turnout.

Following on from the last news update, I didn't get any additional information about the Armed Forces Day event, although, with it now in the bag, I have added some pictures of our volunteers at the event on a new page called Other Events 2014. This page can be found by clicking on the link in the previous sentence or by going to our 1940s Events Gallery (a link to which is on the right hand side of this page). The gallery also has a picture of the cake we raffled off for Mother's Day and when a touch of 1950s glamour met the 1940s Experience.

It was pointed out to me that some of the pictures in the new Bushey Hall and USAAF 8th Fighter Command HQ History Room page weren't showing up. This has now been fixed as for some reason they didn't get uploaded with the last update.

Today's main task was restructuring our Children at War - The Evacuees Experience page. Previously, the page had a lot of information about our three day residential visits but only one sentence about our single day visits. Now if you click on the Children at War link (either at the top or the right of this page) there is an introduction to the visits and a link to information about our single day and three day visits. Alternatively you can go straight to the new page by clicking on this link. All the information that was previously on our Children at War page is now on the three day visit page.

Just to add, our next open day will be on Sunday 27th July 2014.

Until next time
~ Tom
