World War 2 Living History CollectionThe new World War 2 Living History Collection at The Lincolnsfields Centre – formerly Bushey Hall which was Operational Headquarters for the 8th USAAF Fighter Command during the - war opened for group visits in May 2007. This Collection – which is open to the public on the LAST SUNDAY of EVERY MONTH and will also welcome school groups and adult parties on educational visits – will have sections on Children at War the Home Front (inc. rationing, gas masks, air raid shelters etc.) and military and civilian period displays. If you or any of your relatives have any household or military items that could be donated to the collection then a small notice identifying the person concerned will be displayed. This would be a wonderful way to create a lasting memorial to an older relative who was involved in this period of our history. We would also like to hear from local residents who have memories of the American soldiers being at Bushey Hall between 1942 and 1953. Tel: 01923 233841
